Brad Vanderplas

Scada System Dispatcher at Golden Valley Electric Association

Brad VanderPlas has extensive experience in technical and teaching roles, currently serving as a SCADA System Dispatcher at Golden Valley Electric Association since March 2009, where responsibilities include the safe distribution and transmission of electricity. Previously, Brad held the position of CAD/GIS Supervisor at the same organization, focusing on GIS base map maintenance and leading subordinate teams. Additional experience includes teaching Drafting and GIS courses as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Alaska - Community Technical College, and roles in design and drafting at Alkan Shelters and University Redi-Mix. Brad also has a background in management from Kinko's Copies and military service as a Fire Direction Center Chief in the US Army. Educational qualifications include an Associates Degree from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and a Drafting Certificate in Architectural Drafting and CAD/CADD.
