Craig Thompson

Craig Thompson, chief executive officer at Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare, has been with the organization for more than 20 years. He is an experienced leader with a demonstrated history in the healthcare industry. Thompson is skilled in understanding Medicare and Medicaid, hospital operations, healthcare management and managed care.

Prior to his role as chief executive officer, Thompson served as the chief operating officer, assistant administrator and chief compliance officer, and director of rehab and wellness services at Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare.

Thompson earned a bachelor’s degree in health science and physical therapy from the University of Missouri. He also holds a Master of Science in Administration degree with an emphasis in health services management from Central Michigan University.

Thompson has been awarded numerous achievements, including the J.C. Smith Great People Award and Missouri Community Betterment Adult Leader Award. He also is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves on the Clinton Airport Board, Advisory Board for Compass Health and University of Missouri School of Health Professions Alumni Board. In addition, Thompson was the vice chairman for the MIZZOU Legislative Network Committee, as well as past president of the Clinton School District Board of Education, Greater Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce and the Missouri Hospital Association Management Services Corporation Board.
