Tené Buckner has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Tené started their career as an Administrative Assistant Associate at AmeriCorps in 2006, where they contacted community members and helped organize meetings. In 2007, they interned at the Executive Office of the City of Chicago as a Commissioner Intern. From 2009 to 2010, they worked as a Marketing Sales Assistant at The Enterprising Kitchen.

In 2010, Tené joined Lawndale Christian Health Center as a Front Line Patient Registration Specialist and later transitioned to the role of Medical Office Worker. During their time there, they handled switchboard operations, checked in patients, and maintained electronic patient charts. Tené also gained experience in a similar medical office worker role at GoldenWolf, LLC from 2010 to 2016.

In 2017, they worked as a Customer Service Representative at Robert Half and as an Administrative Specialist at Enterprise Holdings. Tené greeted patrons and employees, answered phone calls, and handled filing duties in both roles. For a brief period in 2017, they also served as the Community Ministries Director at The Salvation Army.

In 2019, Tené became a Project Support Specialist at GoldenWolf, LLC, where they provided project support to the team. In 2020, they worked as a Front Line Receptionist at Twin Orchard Country Club, where they greeted and assisted guests and took orders for poolside lunches.

Additionally, Tené has experience as an Executive Assistant to Director at The Firehouse Community Arts Center from 2010 to 2011.

Throughout their career, Tené has demonstrated strong communication and organizational skills, as well as a customer-focused approach in various positions.

Tené Buckner started their education at Harry S. Truman High School, where they obtained their High School Diploma in College Preparatory studies from the years 1987 to 1991. In 1992, they attended Macomb Community College briefly, where they pursued Liberal Arts Studies with a focus on Philosophy and English. Following this, from 1992 to 1994, they enrolled at Ferris State University, taking Secondary Education Courses with an emphasis on Secondary Education and Teaching. Finally, they attended Eastern Michigan University from 1995 to 1999, where they achieved Senior Level Status in Journalism and Communications.
