Jan Visser

Jan Visser is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in both the scientific and sports sectors. Currently serving as a Board Member and chair of the Handicap & Course Rating Committee for the European Golf Association since January 2024, Jan also coordinates industrial contacts at Nikhef, fostering collaboration with industrial partners and serving as Industrial Liaison Officer for CERN. Jan's expertise in detector research and development is demonstrated through a role as Staff Scientist, focusing on collaborations in medical imaging technology. Additionally, Jan co-founded Amsterdam Scientific Instruments B.V., where responsibilities include production oversight of advanced X-ray detector systems. Active in the golfing community, Jan has held leadership roles with the Nederlandse Golf Federatie, including Chairman of the Rules Committee. Educational qualifications include a PhD in High Energy Physics from the University of Groningen and a Master's degree in Physics from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
