Yiannis Koukouras

Yiannis Koukouras has a diverse work experience in the field of information security. Yiannis started their career as a Second Lieutenant in the Greek Army's Computer & Research Corps in 2004 and served until 2005. Following that, they worked as an Information Security Consultant and Security Assurance Consultant at ENCODE S.A. from 2005 to 2007.

In 2007, Yiannis joined the European Commission as a Local Information Security Officer (LISO) Consultant of DG Taxud. Simultaneously, they worked as an Information Security Consultant and Security Analyst at Trasys S.A., focusing on risk assessments, security research on behalf of the European Union, access control modeling, and security auditing. Yiannis held these roles until 2009.

From 2009 to 2012, Yiannis worked at Obrela Security Industries S.A. as an Officer, Research and Assurance, where they were responsible for tasks such as penetration testing, risk assessments, security research, security auditing, and managed security services provider (MSSP).

In 2012, Yiannis joined TwelveSec as an Information Security Consultant/Senior Penetration Tester and played a vital role until 2017. During this time, they provided valuable expertise, and their contributions led him to be appointed as the Managing Director in May 2017. Yiannis continued to hold this position while also taking on additional responsibilities as the Communications Manager and Board Member at (ISC)2 Hellenic Chapter from February 2017 to March 2021.

Yiannis's most recent role is Chief Information Security Officer at GonnaOrder since February 2020. This role further showcases their expertise and leadership in the field of information security.

Yiannis Koukouras has a strong educational background in the field of computer systems security. Yiannis obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Computer Systems Security from Prifysgol Morgannwg, MSc in Computer Security, and University of South Wales. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Electronic Engineering from Lancaster University.
