Derrick Horner has a long and varied career in the tech industry. Derrick began as General Counsel and Senior Vice President at Source Media, Inc. in 2000. In 2002, they moved to 24/7 Media Inc. as Deputy General Counsel and Senior Vice President. In 2005, they took up the role of General Counsel and Executive Vice President - Corporate Development at Massive Incorporated. Derrick then moved to Vizible Corporation in 2006 in the same role. In 2010, they became General Counsel, Vice President - Corporate Development at Perceptive Pixel, a company that was later acquired by Microsoft. In 2011, they took on the role of General Counsel and Senior Vice President - Corporate Development at Vibrant Media. In 2013, they co-founded addGloo and took on the roles of CEO and General Counsel. Derrick also co-founded Good World Games in the same year, taking on the role of Co-Founder and Strategic Advisor, Acting CSO/CRO. In 2017, they co-founded PlaySpree and took on the role of CEO. Derrick is currently CEO of H1 Ventures, LLC, a company that invests seed funds, co-founds and/or serves as board advisor, consultant or director to early-stage companies, recruits teams/talent, and manages operations, growth strategy, product strategy and marketing, distribution and monetization, sales/business development, and corporate finance/development.
Derrick Horner attended Don Bosco Preparatory High School from 1984 to 1988. Derrick then went on to Harvard University, graduating with an AB in Economics in 1992. Derrick subsequently attended Harvard Law School, graduating with a JD in 1995.
