Scott James

Scott James has a diverse work experience in the legal and venture capital sectors. Scott currently holds the position of Partner and COO at Goodwater. Prior to this, they served as the General Counsel at Goodwater and DCVC. Scott has also worked as an Advisory Board Co-Chair at UC Hastings Center for Business Law and served on the General Counsel Advisory Board at the National Venture Capital Association. Additionally, Scott has held teaching roles as an Adjunct Professor at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law. Scott has also been involved in TechGC as a Steering Committee Member. Earlier in their career, they worked as an Associate General Counsel at Accel Partners and as an Associate at Gunderson Dettmer.

Scott James obtained a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude degree from the University of California, College of the Law in San Francisco. Prior to that, they completed their B.S. in Managerial Economics at the University of California, Davis. Additionally, they studied European Union Law at Leiden University. Scott also attended Griffith University for International Studies and received education from Sacred Heart Schools, Atherton.
