Ryan D. Burgess has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Ryan D. most recently served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Goodwill Columbus since March 2021. Prior to that, they were the Director of Cabinet Affairs (Cabinet Secretary) for Governor Mike DeWine from January 2019 to February 2021, where they acted as the liaison between 28 state agencies and the governor's office. From November 2015 to January 2019, Burgess was appointed as the Director of the Governor's Office of Workforce Transformation by Governor John R. Kasich. In this role, they collaborated with cabinet members to develop a skilled workforce for Ohio. Ryan D. also served as the Assistant Director of the Ohio Development Services Agency from May 2013 to November 2015, overseeing the agency's operations and ensuring compliance with program parameters. Prior to their government roles, Burgess held various executive leadership positions at Fifth Third Bank from 1993 to 2013, including Senior Vice President. Ryan D. managed lines of business for national and regional sales teams and focused on serving Fortune 500 companies and large upper middle market clients. Burgess began their career at Fifth Third Bank in 1993 and gained experience in sales roles within the corporate banking division.

Ryan D. Burgess earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from The College of Wooster in 1993.
