Deputy Director Loss Prevention & Workplace Safety at Goodwill of Silicon Valley

Jose Montes has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Jose began their career as a Correctional Officer at San Quentin State Prison in 1976, where they were responsible for Main Yard supervision and recruiting. In 1979, they joined the San Jose Police Department, where they served as a Police Sergeant. During their time there, they gained experience in various areas such as patrol, training, homicide, robbery, and assaults. Jose retired from the police department in 2008.

In 2011, Jose joined Goodwill of Silicon Valley as the Deputy Director of Loss Prevention & Workplace Safety. Jose supervised loss prevention agents and oversaw the security of multiple stores in the region. In 2016, they became the Director of Loss Prevention for the same organization. Jose retired from this role in 2018.

Throughout their career, Jose has exhibited a strong commitment to public safety and has gained extensive experience in law enforcement and loss prevention.

Jose Montes has a diverse education history. In 1969, they enrolled in U.C. Berkeley and studied Sociology and Ethnic Studies until 1973. In 1978, they returned to U.C. Berkeley and pursued further studies in Ethnic Studies and Sociology until 1979. In 2012, Jose attended the Air Force Air War College and participated in the National Security Forum. Jose also obtained a certification from the Air War College in the same year.
