Laurie Cybulski has extensive experience in the field of education and program management. Laurie began their career as an Assessment Coordinator at Goodwill Industries of Pittsburgh in 1997, where they ran the Assessment program for clients entering welfare to training to work program. In this role, they refreshed students on basic reading, math, and test-taking skills, as well as taught conflict resolution, budgeting, and time management skills. Laurie then moved on to Focus on Renwal Sto Rox Neighborhood Corporation in 2007, where they served as the Director of the Learning Center. Here, they managed GED and Adult Basic Education services for adults with educational barriers to employment, providing intensive GED preparation, basic math and reading instruction, basic computer instruction, and job readiness skills. Laurie's most recent experience is with Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania, where they held multiple roles. As an Instructor from 2011 to 2019, they taught various subjects and assisted students in identifying career pathways and transitioning to employment or post-secondary education. From 2019 to 2021, Laurie served as the Assistant Director of Education and Testing, managing Goodwill's Adult Basic Education program and test center. Laurie refined curriculum, hired staff, and led the shift to online instruction during the 2020 shutdowns. Currently, Laurie is the Director of Education and Testing at Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania, where they focus on program management, grant compliance, teacher supervision and training, budget writing and forecasting, and identifying and correcting program pain points through data analysis.
Laurie Cybulski earned a B.A. in English from Duquesne University. Laurie then went on to complete their M.A. in English Literature at Boston College from 1994 to 1996. Prior to their undergraduate studies, Laurie attended Mt. St. Joseph Academy.
