Matthew S. Goodwin

Matthew S. Goodwin is the current Director of the Mechanical Engineering Division at Goodwin. Matthew has also held positions at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Northeastern University, Empatica, Els for Autism, Affectiva, Autism Speaks, and the MIT Media Lab.

Matthew Goodwin obtained their B.S. in mechanical engineering from Northeastern University in 1998. Matthew then worked as the Associate Director of Research at The Groden Center, Inc. until 2011. During this time, they also worked as an Adjunct Associate Research Scientist at Brown University from 2008-2018. In January 2008, Goodwin began working at the MIT Media Lab as the Director of Clinical Research and held this position until 2011 when they became a Visiting Assistant Professor at MIT. Matthew held this position until 2017 when they took their current role at Goodwin.

Matthew S. Goodwin did their postdoc in Affective Computing at MIT Media Lab. Matthew's Ph.D. is in Behavioral Science from University of Rhode Island. Matthew has an M.A. in Experimental Psychology from University of Rhode Island and a B.A. in Psychology from Wheaton College Massachusetts. Matthew did their Liberal Arts in Psychology & Philosophy from St. Clare's, Oxford
