Engineer Principal at Goodyear

Sean Fitzgerald is an accomplished engineer with extensive experience in tire design and manufacturing processes. Currently serving as Engineer Principal at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company since April 2018, Sean focuses on the development of innovative tire designs and manufacturing tools while mentoring junior staff. Previously, Sean worked as a Senior Engineer, utilizing fluid and thermal modeling to enhance tire manufacturing and synthetic rubber production. Between 2001 and 2017, Sean held significant roles at Velocys, including Reaction Engineer and Design Engineer, where contributions included the development of the Fischer-Tropsch reactor and the design of microchannel platforms, resulting in two patents. Earlier career positions included Principal Research Scientist at Battelle and Research Scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, where Sean advanced microchannel technology. Sean holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
