Aaron Franzen

Facility Controls Technician

Aaron Franzen has extensive experience in engineering and education, demonstrating a strong background in robotics, mechatronics, and precision agriculture. Starting as an Orientation Leader and later a Staff Leader for New Student Enrollment at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Aaron progressed to an Alumni Research Fellow at the University of Florida before assuming the role of Research Engineer in Mechatronics at Oklahoma State University. After serving as an Assistant Professor in Precision Agriculture at South Dakota State University, Aaron transitioned to industry positions, including Tractor Innovation Systems Engineer at CNH Industrial and currently Facility Controls Technician at Google. Additionally, Aaron is engaged as a Robotics R&D Engineer at GEO-SPIDER, INCORPORATED, focusing on robotics platforms for specialty crops. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Biosystems & Agricultural Engineering from Oklahoma State University, a Master’s degree in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering from the University of Florida, and a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
