Alicia Parrish

Alicia Parrish is a Research Scientist at Google since September 2022, specializing in the psychological and neurological aspects of language comprehension. Previously, Alicia was a Doctoral Student at New York University from September 2017 to September 2022, where research focused on how humans derive meaning from sentences using syntactic and semantic cues, involving both child and adult participants. Experience also includes a brief tenure as a Linguist at Facebook, contributing to natural language understanding models, and roles in academia as a Teaching Assistant and Cognitive Science Program Assistant at Michigan State University. Education includes a PhD in Linguistics from New York University, an MA in Linguistics from Michigan State University, and a BA in Psychology and English from Illinois State University. Prior to academic pursuits, Alicia served as a Health Volunteer with the Peace Corps and has diverse experience in tutoring and customer service.
