Amit Ganesh is a seasoned technology executive with extensive experience in engineering and leadership roles in the cloud and database sectors. Currently serving as VP of Engineering at Google since June 2018, Amit leads advancements in AI within databases, overseeing the development of prominent AI and data services such as AlloyDB AI and Cloud SQL. Prior to Google, Amit spent over two decades at Oracle, where Amit held various senior leadership positions, including Senior Vice President of Oracle Cloud and Server Technology, and played a critical role in the development of major innovations in database technology, such as Exadata and the In-Memory Database. Amit began his career at Oracle as an engineer focused on distributed transaction processing, and holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, where Amit was awarded the President of India Gold Medal.
