Avril Cheong has extensive experience in competition and antitrust law, having worked as an Associate and later as a Senior Associate at Allen & Gledhill LLP from August 2015 to December 2017, advising clients on cartel, abuse of dominance, and merger control matters across various industries. Prior experience includes an internship at Wong Partnership LLP and a practice trainee role at Kelvin Chia Partnership, where assistance was provided on M&A deals in Singapore and Myanmar. Avril held positions at Grab as Head of Competition & Antitrust and as Competition Counsel, focusing on competition law compliance. Currently, Avril serves as Regulatory Counsel for Competition at Google, advising on competition matters across the APAC region. Avril completed a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree at the University of Nottingham, graduating in 2013.
