Daniel Steinbock

Senior Researcher

Daniel Steinbock is a Senior Researcher at Google since July 2022, focusing on foundational research and design for future user experiences utilizing computational photography and generative AI. With extensive experience as a consultant and facilitator in freelance design research and strategy since June 2010, Daniel previously served as Principal Product Designer at Protagonist from August 2021 to March 2022, emphasizing collaboration tools within the purpose economy. Prior experience includes roles as a UX Researcher and Designer at Meta from April 2016 to March 2021, where involvement included R&D for augmented reality and civic technology, as well as serving as a lecturer in the graduate program in design at Stanford University from January 2014 to December 2016. Daniel holds a Ph.D. in Learning Sciences and Technology Design with a focus on Anthropology of Education, and a Master of Science in Engineering with a specialization in Human-Centered Design Methodology, both from Stanford University.
