Declan Thompson

Declan Thompson is a Software Engineer at Google since July 2023, following a diverse academic and professional background in philosophy and computer science. At The University of Auckland, Declan served as a Volunteer Developer, creating a Java-based proof assistant for classroom use, as well as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, providing support in introductory logic courses. Declan's research experience includes a role as a Researcher at Stanford University, where an interdisciplinary project was developed and presented at international conferences, alongside work as a Teaching Assistant and Primary Instructor for various philosophy courses. Declan also held positions as a Visiting Scholar at Victoria University of Wellington and as a Visiting PhD Student at the Institute for Logic, Language and Computation at the University of Amsterdam. Declan holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy and a Graduate Certificate in Computer Science Education from Stanford University.
