Geoff Keeling is a Senior Research Scientist and Bioethicist at Google since September 2021, where responsibilities include supporting the scaling of a pioneering bioethics program at Google Health and advising on human subjects research, data privacy, and ethical culture. As an ethics advisor for Google’s Health Ethics Committee, Geoff provides ethical analysis on complex organizational policy and research directions. Prior to Google, Geoff served as a Research Fellow at Stanford University, focusing on AI and ethics, and developed an interdisciplinary course on the Ethics, Law, and Politics of AI. Additionally, experience includes a role as a Research Assistant at the University of Cambridge, contributing to a project on understanding medical black boxes. Educational qualifications include a BSc in Philosophy, Logic, and Scientific Method from The London School of Economics and Political Science, an MA in Philosophy, and a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Bristol.
