George Halal

George Halal is a Machine Learning Software Engineer at Google since December 2025, previously serving as a Member of Technical Staff at Contextual AI, where key achievements included optimizing agentic search tools and training state-of-the-art LLM rerankers. Halal holds a PhD in Physics from Stanford University, where extensive research included projects on transformer-based super-resolution, causal inference, and machine learning techniques for astrophysics, contributing to several advancements in computer vision and generative models.
