Harrington Sean has extensive experience in both coaching and research within the fields of physics and materials science. From November 2018 to April 2022, Harrington served as the Assistant Triathlon Coach for the UCSB triathlon club and was also a Graduate Student Researcher, focusing on molecular beam epitaxy growth and electronic characterization of novel materials such as Heusler compounds and III-V heterostructures for applications in spintronics and quantum computation. Previously, Harrington worked at NIST as a Summer Undergraduate Research Student and Guest Researcher, investigating semiconductor quantum dots and superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors. Additional roles include Physics Tutor and Intern positions that provided skills in optical apparatus construction and project management. Harrington has held engineering positions at Adecco and Google, where responsibilities included hardware engineering and integration within the Google Quantum AI team, culminating in a Senior Hardware Engineer role. Harrington earned a bachelor's degree in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and a Ph.D. in Materials from UCSB.
