Johnny Hartz Søraker is an accomplished academic and professional with extensive experience in philosophy, information technology, and ethics. At the University of Twente, Johnny served as an Assistant Professor, focusing on the intersections of technology and philosophy, with a particular emphasis on developing a methodology called 'Prudential-Empirical Ethics of Technology (PEET).' Prior roles included PostDoctoral Research Fellow and PhD Research Fellow, concentrating on epistemology, ontology, and ethics in virtual worlds. Johnny worked at Google from 2017 to 2019 as a Trust & Safety Policy Specialist and later as an AI Ethicist, leading efforts to educate employees on ethical decision-making and embed AI principles throughout the organization. Additionally, Johnny has been involved in various teaching roles, including as a lecturer at NTNU and Høgskolen i Sør-Trøndelag, and holds a Master's degree from NTNU and a PhD from the University of Twente.
