Jonathan Eagles is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in cloud computing and open-source projects. Currently serving as a Senior Staff Software Engineer for Google Cloud Dataproc since October 2025, Jonathan has also been an active member of The Apache Software Foundation since June 2012, contributing as a committer and Project Management Committee member for both the Apache Tez and Apache Hadoop projects. Prior to Google, Jonathan held the position of Principal Software Engineer at Yahoo from August 2007 to October 2025 and worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Motorola Mobility from June 2005 to August 2007. Early in Jonathan's career, the role of Software Engineer was held at Frasca International from June 2002 to June 2005. Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, earned between 1997 and 2002.
