Kari Ragnarsson

Kari Ragnarsson is a Staff Software Engineer at Google, where they currently lead the Optimized Geographic Relevance team in Search Ads. Previously, Kari has held significant roles as a research fellow and visiting assistant professor at various institutions, including Northwestern University and the University of Illinois at Chicago. They began their career with internships at Nervus Medical Devices, deCODE genetics, and Íslandsbanki hf., developing key algorithms that enhanced system performance. Kari earned a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Iceland.
