Lucy Chai

Lucy Chai is an accomplished researcher and data scientist with experience in both academic and industry settings. Starting as an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of Pennsylvania's Danielle Bassett Lab, Lucy's research focused on brain networks related to language processing, alongside roles as a Teaching Assistant in complex subjects such as fluid mechanics and automata theory. Lucy interned with MITRE, where deep neural networks for image-to-text matching were developed, and further enhanced skills at Adobe, working on image synthesis and generative models. A Software Developer Intern at athenahealth, Lucy created an interactive campus map. Currently, Lucy serves as a Research Scientist at Google. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Philosophy in Machine Learning from the University of Cambridge, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
