Luis Sarmenta is an accomplished software developer and consultant with extensive experience in technology and education. Notably, Sarmenta developed VIR-X Plus, a leading anti-virus software in the Philippines during the late 1980s, and served as Technology Director for the MIT Next Billion Network, focusing on mobile empowerment in underserved communities. As a co-founder of several tech initiatives, including BlueBlade Technologies and the Ateneo Java Wireless Competency Center, Sarmenta has significantly contributed to mobile application development. Additional roles include positions at Facebook as a Software Engineer, Nokia as a Principal Researcher, and various academic appointments at prestigious institutions, including Ateneo de Manila University and MIT.
