Nikhil Sarin has extensive experience in engineering and leadership roles, primarily at Google Inc. from April 2012 to November 2021, where Nikhil served as Director of Engineering and Principal Engineer for Google Play. In this capacity, Nikhil led a high-performing team focused on Platform Infrastructure, including Search, Machine Learning, Recommendations, and Play Catalog Management. Nikhil founded the Google Play ML Infra team and developed innovative systems such as a feature store and unified training infrastructure. Prior to this, Nikhil modernized Play's search indexing and serving system and led a team dedicated to making personal user data searchable. Earlier experience includes a role as an Engineer at Onetta Inc., where Nikhil designed a reliable embedded software platform. Nikhil holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Nanyang Technological University Singapore.
