Nithish Divakar has extensive experience in machine learning and computer vision, beginning with a role as Project Assistant in the Video Analytics Lab at the Indian Institute of Science from June 2015 to July 2016. Nithish earned a Master’s Degree in Computational Science from the Indian Institute of Science between 2013 and 2015 and pursued a PhD in Computer Vision, which was later dropped out from in 2017. Following the academic tenure, Nithish worked at Cogknit Semantics Pvt. Ltd. as a Computer Vision Research Engineer from September 2017 to October 2018, and subsequently held positions at Rakuten Institute of Technology from January 2020 to January 2021, including Researcher, Associate Research Scientist, and Senior Research Scientist. Nithish then served as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at LinkedIn from May 2022 to July 2025, before transitioning to Google in July 2025, currently working as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer in the Trust AI team, focusing on content moderation.
