Norbert Nthala is an experienced professional in the fields of cybersecurity, privacy engineering, and user research, with a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, obtained with distinction from the University of Malawi, Polytechnic. Notable roles include serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Security & Privacy at Michigan State University, where research focused on human phishing detection, and as a Research Associate in Cyber Security at the University of Oxford, leading grant-funded projects to develop technologies for securing home networks. Nthala has also co-founded Smart Syber and held positions as a Privacy Engineer and currently as a Senior Privacy Engineer at Google. Previous experience includes lecturing in computer programming, networks, and systems support, as well as consulting services in IT and management.
