Omid Fatemieh

Omid Fatemieh is a seasoned engineering leader with extensive experience in data analytics and software engineering. Currently serving as a Senior Engineering Manager at Google since September 2016, focus areas include AI/ML, Indexing, and Vector/Text Search within BigQuery. Prior roles include key positions at Amazon Web Services and Microsoft, where contributions ranged from leading teams in S3 to optimizing power management for Windows 8 ARM devices, resulting in co-authorship of three patents. Omid Fatemieh also held a postdoctoral researcher role at the University of Illinois, developing components for a fuel-efficient navigation service, and has experience as a software engineer at Morgan Stanley and Alcatel-Lucent - Bell Labs. Educational achievements include a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering from Sharif University of Technology.
