Sara Popham

Sara Popham is an accomplished data scientist with extensive experience in research and machine learning. Currently, Sara holds the position of Data Scientist in the Research department at Google, focusing on YouTube's search functionalities. Prior to this, Sara served as a Senior Data Scientist at Verily, leading projects on machine learning algorithms for sensor data and conducting validation studies for wearable devices. Sara's expertise in neuroscience was further developed through a role as a Neuroscientist at Neurosity and as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Berkeley. At Berkeley, Sara also contributed as a Graduate Student Instructor in Applied Statistics for Neuroscience and Discrete Mathematics. Earlier experiences include serving as a Lab Manager at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Teaching Assistant at Johns Hopkins University. Sara earned a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Arts degree with double majors in Applied Mathematics and Statistics and Psychology from Johns Hopkins University.
