Sergey Novikov is a Research Scientist at Google since October 2025, specializing in quantum computing with superconducting devices. Prior to this role, Sergey served as Head of Circuit Design and Lead Circuit Designer at Atlantic Quantum from June 2022 to October 2025. Sergey also held the position of Sr. Principal Physicist at Northrop Grumman Corporation for seven years, from June 2015 to June 2022, and was a Graduate Research Assistant at both the Laboratory for Physical Sciences and the University of Maryland from January 2010 to June 2015. Sergey completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics at the University of Maryland from 2009 to 2014 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Physics and Computer Science from the University of Chicago from 2004 to 2009.
