Shaan Qamar

Shaan Qamar is an accomplished data science professional with extensive experience in analytics, statistics, and research. At Google, from November 2017 to May 2024, Shaan held various roles, including Data Science Manager for Google Play's fraud and abuse team and payments analytics and experience optimization, as well as serving as a Senior Data Scientist for Google Assistant focusing on product growth and quality metrics. Prior to Google, Shaan's academic background includes a PhD and a Master of Science in Statistics from Duke University, where research focused on scalable inference and Bayesian nonparametrics. Shaan's earlier positions include roles as a Research Intern at Yahoo, developing frameworks for scaling algorithms, a Quantitative Analyst at Vistaprint, working on product purchase probabilities, and a Quantitative Software Engineer at BlackRock, enhancing data access and retrieval.
