Shea Duarte

Shea Duarte, PhD, currently serves as a User Experience Researcher at Google, focusing on conversation UX research for Google Home since March 2025. Prior to this, Shea held a similar role at Meta through INSPYR, leading experimental research for audio experiences in virtual and mixed reality devices. Academic experience includes a Doctoral Researcher position at the University of California, Davis, where research emphasized human multisensory perception using virtual reality methods, supported by NIH funding. Previous internships at Google involved developing prototypes and conducting usability studies related to audio technologies. Education includes a PhD and MA in Psychology with a focus on perception, cognition, and cognitive neuroscience from the University of California, Davis, as well as a BA in Psychology from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona.
