Tom Hughes is an experienced software engineer with a background in cloud infrastructure and WebRTC applications. Hughes served as Principal Engineer at vLine from January 2012 to March 2014, focusing on client-side JavaScript SDK development for vLine APIs. Previous roles include Senior Software Engineer at Hewlett-Packard, contributing to the webOS platform, and Software Engineering Intern at Palm. From March 2014 to August 2018, Hughes held the position of Principal Engineer at Airtime, developing a C++14 multiparty publish/subscribe server and a cross-platform client-side framework. Currently, Hughes is a Staff Software Engineer at Google, working on Chrome OS. Hughes holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and has additional education in Computer Science from the City University of Hong Kong.
