Xi Chen

Xi Chen is an accomplished machine learning engineer with extensive experience across prominent tech companies. Beginning with an internship at Sony in 2008, Xi progressed through significant roles at Microsoft Research and Apple, where contributions included data science and leadership positions. As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Facebook from November 2019 to August 2021, Xi further honed expertise in the field. Currently, Xi is a Staff Machine Learning Engineer at both Google DeepMind and Google, holding responsibilities that include knowledge grounding associated with Retrieval-Augmented Generation on large language models. Xi earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Data Mining/Machine Learning from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and a Bachelor of Science in Computer and Information Sciences from Zhejiang University.
