Valerie Bennett

As a grants officer at the Moore Foundation, Valerie supports the full cycle of grantmaking, from the pre-grant phases through active management and close.

Before joining the foundation, Valerie worked in development for a local nonprofit, Bay Area Cancer Connections, where she led a large data migration project and managed the organization's first virtual benefit. Prior to that, she worked at Kaiser Permanente, where she developed business strategies for the Kaiser Permanente health plan and collaborated with physicians on new market entry projects. She also worked at Lockheed Martin, where she priced proposals for government contracts.

Valerie earned a B.A. in economics with a Minor in English and an MBA, both from UCLA. In her free time, she enjoys practicing yoga, gardening, reading, and listening to music.
