Established in 1989, Gorkha Brewery (P) Ltd. is a joint collaboration between Danish Multinational company Carlsberg Breweries, Copenhagen, Denmark and leading Nepalese Business House-Khetan Group. Gorkha Brewery was and continues to be the largest single foreign investment in Nepal. Gorkha Brewery produces Carlsberg Beer, Tuborg Beer, San Miguel Beer (under license from San Miguel Brewing International Ltd., Philipines), Royal Danish Tuborg Strong Beer and Gorkha Beer and holds more that 80% of the share in the beer market. In 2006 Gorkha Brewery launched Jolly Shandy and Jolly Lemonade thus diversifying itself into a beverage company.
