Jean-Marie Bruey

Jean-Marie Bruey, Ph.D., currently serves as Vice President and Head of Translational Medicine at Gossamer Bio since June 2020 and is also the Founder and President of PTMed Consulting from February 2020. Previously, Jean-Marie held the position of Head of Translational Medicine at Halozyme Therapeutics, where responsibilities included leading the Global Translational Medicine function and developing a pre-launch plan for PEGPH20 in metastatic pancreatic cancer. With extensive experience in oncology biomarker development at Bristol-Myers Squibb as Executive Director and at Genentech as Senior Group Leader, Jean-Marie has contributed significantly to numerous companion diagnostic programs and personalized medicine initiatives. Jean-Marie's career began at Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute as a Postdoctoral Fellow, after earning a Ph.D. focused on apoptosis and cancer from Université de Bourgogne. Academic qualifications also include master's degrees in virology and biochemistry, as well as a bachelor's degree in biochemistry.
