Tonya Mead

Tonya Mead, PhD has extensive experience in the field of medical writing and submissions. Tonya started their career as a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of California, San Diego in 2008. In the same year, they also worked as a Medical Writer at Halozyme Therapeutics, Inc. Tonya then progressed to the roles of Clinical Safety Specialist II, Senior Clinical Safety Specialist, Manager of Drug Safety, and finally, as a Senior Manager of Safety and Risk Management at Halozyme Therapeutics, Inc.

In 2015, Tonya joined Receptos, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Celgene, where they served as a Senior Manager of Medical Writing and later as an Associate Director of Medical Writing and Submissions.

In 2018, Tonya joined Gossamer Bio as an Associate Director of Medical Writing. Their responsibilities and accomplishments in this role are not specified.

Tonya Mead, PhD completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Duke University, where they studied from 1996 to 2000. Tonya further pursued their education and obtained their Ph.D. in Neurosciences from UC San Diego, completing their doctoral studies from 2001 to 2008.
