Chief Operating Officer at Steward

Ryan Anderson has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Currently, they serve as the Chief Operating Officer at Steward, a position they have held since January 2023. Prior to this, they were the Executive Director of the Steward Foundation from January 2021. Ryan also worked as the Senior Vice President of Services at Steward from May 2021 to January 2023.

Before joining Steward, Ryan was the Chief of Staff at the U.S. House of Representatives from January 2019 to December 2020. In 2018, they were the Finance Director for a successful Democratic campaign for the U.S. House of Representatives.

Ryan co-owned ACRE LLC, a small scale sustainable farm in Detroit, from March 2012 to December 2018. During this time, they collaborated with local restaurants to offer rare and heirloom varietals. Ryan also served as a Founding Board Member of the Corktown Farmers' Market from January 2015 to December 2017.

Earlier in their career, Ryan held various positions, including Director of Operations at Win Without War (March 2008 to May 2011), Director of Development & Communications at Washington Monthly Magazine (December 2006 to December 2007), Senior Account Executive at The Bonner Group (January 2006 to November 2006), and Political Assistant at The Bonner Group (June 2004 to December 2004).

Ryan started their career as an Intern at Progressive Majority (September 2002 to December 2002) and as a Development Intern at the Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund (September 2001 to May 2002).

Ryan Anderson attended The George Washington University from 2000 to 2004, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in American/United States Studies/Civilization.
