Tyson Carswell Bsc

Tyson Carswell holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master's Degree in Geography, specializing in Oceanographic Remote Sensing from the University of Victoria. Since September 2016, Tyson has served as a Senior Policy Analyst at the BC Public Service within the Ministry of Land, Water, and Resource Stewardship, focusing on provincial aquaculture, wild salmon, and fisheries policy. Prior roles include Senior Policy Analyst for the Ministry of Agriculture, Food & Fisheries, Wildlife Data Specialist, and Ecosystem Information Technologist at the Spectral and Remote Sensing Laboratory. Experience includes research and consulting at the University of Victoria, and prior positions with the Canadian Coast Guard and Citizenship and Immigration Canada. Tyson has developed remote sensing techniques for mapping phytoplankton blooms, contributed to field sampling, and presented research findings to various audiences. Tyson achieved a notable GPA of 8.33/9 during academic studies and has participated in community service as a committee member for the Town of View Royal.
