Chris Morrissey is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in leadership and resource management. Currently serving as Deputy Minister of Growth and Development for the Government of Nova Scotia since May 2025, Chris previously held the position of VP of Resource Management at Acadian Seaplants from January 2016 to May 2025. Chris also served as Executive Director of Clean Nova Scotia from June 2013 to January 2016 and as CEO for Halifax 2011 Canada Games, overseeing the largest Canada Winter Games in history, managing a team of 100 and a $45 million budget. Prior experience includes serving as General Manager for the Whitehorse 2007 Canada Games, successfully directing Canada's first major multi-sport event north of the 60th parallel. Chris holds a Community Shift degree from Ivey Business School at Western University and an EMBA from Sobey School of Business - Saint Mary's University, as well as an undergraduate degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador.
