Maureen Kelly is currently the Executive Director of Governmental & Community Relations at Governors State University. Maureen has over 15 years of experience in community and government relations. Prior to their current position, Ms. Kelly served as the Executive Director of Community & Government Relations at Saint Xavier University where they created internal programs to enhance and expand the university's relationships with elected officials at Federal, State, and local levels.

Ms. Kelly has also worked as a Special Assistant in the OFFICE OF UNITED STATES SENATOR RICHARD J. DURBIN where they were responsible for managing inquiries and complaints, facilitating communication with neighborhoods, civic organizations, resident organizations and elected officials to promote the university's "goodwill". In this role, they also helped prepare testimony for legislative hearings on higher education issues.

Ms. Kelly is a seasoned professional with a proven track record in community outreach and government relations. Maureen is a strategic thinker and an excellent communicator with the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Maureen Kelly studied political science at Northern Illinois University, where they earned a B.A.

They are on a team with Paul McGuinness - VP, Student Affairs & Enrollment Management, Therese King Nohos - VP, General Counsel, and Carl Hampton - Chief Diversity Officer. Maureen Kelly reports to Cheryl Green, President.
