Javier Cao

Javier Cao Avellaneda is an experienced professional in cybersecurity, privacy, and IT risk management. Currently serving as the Cybersecurity, Privacy, and IT Risk Leader at Telefónica Tech since August 2020 and at GOVERTIS Advisory Services since June 2017, Javier simultaneously holds multiple academic roles. At UCAM Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia, Javier teaches "Auditoría y Peritaje" for Computer Engineering students and "Delincuencia Informática" for Criminology students. As Coordinator for the Murcia Region at the Centro de Ciberseguridad Industrial since June 2019 and a professor for advanced data protection programs, Javier is actively engaged in training future data protection officers. Previous roles include significant contributions at various organizations in areas of cybersecurity consulting and project management. Javier holds a degree in Computer Engineering from Universidad de Murcia, completed in 1998.
