Nicholas Cica

Nicholas Cica has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and industries. Nicholas is currently working as a Lead Data Scientist at Govini since February 2022, after previously working as a Data Scientist at the same company from August 2021 to February 2022. Prior to their current position, they worked as a Data Scientist at Matrix Solutions from April 2018 to July 2021, where they developed and deployed machine learning solutions to solve business problems in the AdTech industry. Before that, they worked as a Data Scientist at Plus Consulting from July 2017 to March 2018, where they implemented the Team Data Science Process and created machine learning models using Python and other tools. Nicholas also worked as an Automation Consultant at Plus Consulting from October 2015 to July 2017, reducing manual testing and creating test scenarios. Earlier in their career, Nicholas worked as a Web Developer at the Embassy of Japan from August 2009 to April 2012, where they implemented UI/UX designs and launched a social network. Nicholas also worked as an Assistant Registrar at EDMC from April 2008 to June 2009, managing student databases and developing operating procedures for enrollment. Additionally, they worked as an Intern at GlaxoSmithKline from June 2006 to December 2006, where they produced financial reports and translations.

Nicholas Cica has an extensive education history. Nicholas obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Analytics from the Georgia Institute of Technology from 2020 to 2022. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Arts (MA) degree in International Relations from Waseda University from 2013 to 2015. Nicholas also pursued a Research Student program in International & Public Policy at Hitotsubashi University in 2012 and 2013.

For their undergraduate studies, Nicholas completed a Dual Degree in Business and Japanese at the University of Pittsburgh from 2002 to 2007. Additionally, they received a Certificate of Study in Japanese from Konan University in 2004 and 2005.

In terms of certifications, Nicholas has multiple achievements. Nicholas obtained a certificate in Natural Language Processing with Deep Learning from the Stanford Center for Professional Development in May 2020. Nicholas also completed the Analytics: Essential Tools and Methods program at the Georgia Institute of Technology in December 2019. Moreover, Nicholas holds certifications such as MCSA: Machine Learning from Microsoft in March 2018, Microsoft Professional Program for Data Science in January 2018, Machine Learning Engineer Nanodegree from Udacity in July 2017, Deep Learning Nanodegree Foundation from Udacity in May 2017, and Data Analyst Nanodegree from Udacity in February 2017. Furthermore, they have completed various courses and programs, including Machine Learning from Coursera Course Certificates in July 2016, MCPS: Microsoft Certified Professional in June 2016, and MS: Programming in C# from Microsoft in June 2016.

Lastly, Nicholas demonstrated proficiency in the Japanese language by passing the Japanese Language-Proficiency Test, which was jointly administrated by the Association of International Education, Japan, and the Japan Foundation in July 2012.
