Christopher Bown

Christopher Bown is a Partner and Patent Agent at Gowling WLG Canada, where Christopher has worked since May 2008, leading the National Practice Group for Patents while specializing in Intellectual Property. Bown prepares and prosecutes patent applications across various sectors within the life sciences and chemical fields, with a focus on biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, bioprocessing, and medical devices. Prior to joining Gowling WLG, Bown served as a Patent Agent at Ogilvy Renault LLP from February 2007 to May 2008 and worked as a Technical Consultant at G. Ronald Bell & Associates from March 2004 to February 2007. Bown holds a PhD in Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences from McMaster University and a B.Sc. in Genetics from Western University.
