Faria Begum Riya (She/Her)

Faria Begum Riya's work experience includes a role as a Senior Software Engineer at GoZayaan since November 2021 and as a Software Engineer, Front End at the same company from October 2019 to October 2021. Prior to that, she worked as an Software Engineer at Lamudi Bangladesh from April 2018 to September 2018.

In her role as Senior Software Engineer, she was responsible for designing, establishing, and managing the end-to-end CI/CD pipeline of frontend projects, utilizing Docker, Kubernetes, Github Actions, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Additionally, she accelerated campaign content creation by building an efficient drag-and-drop page builder, empowering the marketing team with a powerful tool to streamline their workflows.

She played a key role in architecting and leading the frontend development of a hotel extranet application, facilitating the onboarding of hundreds of local hotels and resorts. In efforts to enhance website performance, she successfully reduced bundle size using techniques such as tree shaking, code splitting, and lazy loading of media, subsequently saving bandwidth costs.

Her contributions also extended to implementing event tracking and A/B testing in the codebase, facilitating the identification of user behavior insights and driving a substantial sales uplift in the process. Additionally, she took on a mentoring role for junior frontend developers, guiding them to maintain quality code through pair programming and code reviews, ensuring they were able to keep up with the agile development process.

She worked as Software Engineer, FrontEnd from October 2019 to October 2021 in the same organization.She built GoZayaan’s website from scratch with a team of 2 frontend developers using Vue.js. She worked on expanding the website's functionality by integrating third-party plugins, including Goridan flights, Mapbox, and Expedia hotel inventory API. Additionally, she developed and maintained an internal admin web application for managing bookings, sales, accounts, and automating tasks. Her efforts also included the implementation of a comprehensive design system, resulting in optimized reusable components.

During her time in Lamudi as Software Engineer from April 2018 to September 2018 , she fixed critical bugs in the application, leveraging practical expertise in PHP and JavaScript, resulting in enhanced stability and improved performance. Additionally, she developed responsive marketing campaign pages using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Collaborating with the marketing team, she also contributed to the creation of email templates for campaigns using HTML and CSS.

Faria Begum Riya completed her Master of Science in Applied Mathematics from the University of Dhaka in the years 2018-2019. Prior to that, she pursued her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the same university between 2014-2018.
