Account Lead - Buick GMC at GP Strategies

Scott Akey's work experience includes a variety of roles in different companies. Scott started their career as an Industrial Sales Manager at Safety-Kleen in 1996 and then worked as a Sales Manager at Quicken Loans from 2001 to 2006. Scott later joined JP Morgan/Chase Mortgage as a Sub-Prime Mortgage Sales Manager from 2006 to 2009.

In 2010, they became a National Credit Coach at Chrysler Financial/TD Auto Finance, where they directed a buying team and played a key role in the transition from Chrysler to TD. Scott achieved significant success, becoming the 3rd largest retailer of indirect automotive loans in the country within the first 12 months.

From 2013 to 2016, they worked at Michigan First Credit Union/Ally Financial as an Indirect Lending Manager/Underwriter II, where they managed a team and developed relationships with clients.

In 2016, they joined Southfield Chrysler/Suburban Chrysler as a Business Manager, responsible for sales, marketing, client management, and business performance.

Scott then moved to General Motors in 2017 as a Customer Quality Engineer, where they analyzed warranty and compass data, facilitated meetings, and collaborated with multi-national teams.

In 2019, they joined MSX International as a District Manager Aftersales - Remote - Supervisor, working with General Motors to improve parts visibility, grow revenue, and provide warranty and fixed operations assistance to dealers.

Currently, they are the Account Lead - Buick GMC at GP Strategies Corporation since 2022.

Scott Akey received their Bachelor of Science in Management from the University of Phoenix in 2004.
