James Hewitt

James Hewitt currently serves as the Regional Director of the Water Practice and Director of Water Practice for Ohio at GPD Group since August 2019, overseeing water and parks and recreation projects. Hewitt has been a board member of the Akron Heart Association since November 2019. Prior to GPD Group, Hewitt had a long tenure with the City of Akron from May 1988 to November 2019, holding positions such as City Engineer, Public Utilities Bureau Manager, Water and Sewer Systems Manager, Sewer Maintenance Superintendent, and Engineering Projects Coordinator. James's earlier experience includes serving as a Crew Supervisor for the Cleveland Cavaliers and working as an Instrument Man for Rolling, Hocevar and Associates. Hewitt holds a BS in Construction Technology and an AAS in Surveying and Construction Technology from The University of Akron and graduated from Medina High School.
